A quad bike can also be referred to as an all terrain vehicle (ATV). It is a vehicle which travels on low pressured tyres, with a seat that is straddled along with handlebars akin to those on a motorcycle.
Quad bikes have (as the name might suggest) 4 wheels. This allows for greater stability at slower speeds than a motorbike. They are built to be used off-road, and therefore a lot ofquad bike centres have been created throughout the country. These alloow people who may not own a quad bike to go to their site and have a day renting a bike off them and riding around specially designed tracks or courses.
It is advised that you wear a safety helmet as over the years there have been a lot of accidents involving quad bikes where bikes have overturned when climbing hills. After a bit of practice though and with some tuition and advice fromorganisations, days out at quad bike sites are throughly enjoyable.
